We will be passing through Blythe California on our way east next Friday night. That will be about as far as east we can get that night.
We are looking for somewhere cheap to park the coach and toad until we hit the road again early the next morning. We won't be needing hookups, just somewhere the wife and kids can feel safe.

It is hard to kiss the lips at night, that has chewed your butt all day long!
Across the river in Ehrenberg, Az is a Resort called River Breeze and we stayed there 2 months and liked it. We do not do Walmarts and Truck Stops and we do enjoy the simplier things in life, like electricity.

I would think you'll want hookups to run the A/C. With the price of fuel running the gen would not be cheap and the temps in Blythe this time of year won't drop below 100, even at night.
River Breeze is a very good stop. We stayed there for 2 winters. Nice grass park with access to the river. It is at exit one-across the road from the Flying J. Blythe has no Walmart, but they do have a K-mart and I have seem rv's in there. There is a KOA(I think) right before you cross into Arizona. To your right on the river. Flying J is very noisy and crowded at Ehrenberg, they are short on rv pull ups. Midland BLM is really far off your track, even tho free. Also if you cross into Arizona, Dome Rock road Blm is convenient, south side of I-10, it is the exit past Tom Wells Road, oh, and at that exit is a truck stop, well lit, has a quiznos/store/gifts/pizza etc. I would stay there vs the Flying J. large parking lot. Agree with tother poster-temps are high, River Breeze is an excellent choice, but make a reservation, lots of boat people this time of year..good luck. Dona

Retired early and ready to see North America!
Take exit 17 to the right toward the Loves Truck Stop, take another right on Dome Rock Road back 1/2 mile toward the Super 8 Motel.
There is a large, level parking lot across the street from Super 8. Is safe, quiet and has easy access to the I10. Also has easy access to main street Quartzsite where there are several RV parks in case you decide to hook up for the night.....it will be hot in "Q"...and in Blyth for that matter.
Happy trails,
Roger
