I have been wondering if there is any chance of the aerosol cans we have in the camper (bug spray), would explode with it all closed up and getting pretty warm in there this summer. Anyone heard of this happening? I should probably just take them out.

Don't expose them to direct flame, or store them right by your heater or oven, and you should be fine.

I have never had an issue with spray cans, but I have had soda cans explode in the summer heat. Quite a mess to clean up after they have been drying for days on the carpet.

Highly unlikely - I have had bug sprays in my 5er for a year or so - up to 110 inside on occasion - never an issue.

The only thing that you have to worry about is your microwave popcorn. Really high temperatures will spoil the butter ( oil ) that they use in the packages. That's the only thing that I remove from my MH when the unit is not in use in the summer.

You'd have to be really unlucky if an aersol can stored inside an RV exploded without the RV being on fire itself which would make me far more concerned about the propane tanks than a little spray can. JMO

I think the basement would be a cooler place to store aerosol cans.

Well listen up!!!!!!!!! Last year 2007 at our Samboree this very thing happened to me. I had a Yard Guard bug spray in a storage compartment, and through time the valve will give way and let the propellant leak out. And if it is by a flame as in the water heater or pilot lite, not the same compartment, just next to it. when it is lit, you might be lucky enough to escape a fire. I wasn't and the trailer caught fire, Good thing was I was right there when it fleered up I was able to put it out by the time fire department arrived. I had a lot of help from those around me, and I had some damage but it was repairable. And we did make the Rally in Redmand Or, but it was costly and time consuming
I advise NOT to keep any spray cans in the trailer. You never know. If you don't need it all the time leave it home or put it some place else where its safe.
Mythbusters had this same thing done on one of there shows, and it was busted. HOG WASH it still got me!!!!!!!!!!
The can might not explode, but why chance it.
