In this case, because I know the road they are talking about, it's actually a cul-de-sac...off the foot of Cariboo, away from the thru traffic. In fact..a perfect place next to the Brunette River..perfect except for the operators of the Cariboo RV Park..which I happen to agree is over-priced, poorly placed...can you spell TRAIN TRAX? and obviously not good Corporate citizens.

You and I don't disagree often, Gary, but I do on this point. I think there IS something wrong with RVs parking somewhere more than overnight without permission. Most cities/neighbourhoods have bylaws/guidelines preventing this, and rightfully so. How would you like it if you constantly had a parade of RVs parking in front of or down the street from your house?
Why would you say the RV Park is poorly placed? I think it's a good location. Sure, the train tracks are close by, but it's not a main line. You get a better sleep there than you can at Kilby (which happens to be worth it for the gorgeous locale, though!).
Most RV parks are over-priced - and people still pay. The cost of land is high here, so it makes sense. If people think it's too high, they can simply go somewhere else. There's always Wal*Mart!

I may have mis-stated my thoughts Paula..when I said I was ok with parking, I was thinking of a specific location that I have used and others do as well, that is quite fabulous, however, it is not at the gates of an RV park. So, please allow me to apologize if I left that impression.
I will pm you my other comments, so as to not stir the pot further.
I often drive over the overpass that this park is near. I live literally blocks away as the crow flies. It often appears full, all year, they are not suffering for business IMHO. So this particular complaint seems quite shortsighted especially as now the actions have caused some rightfully deserved negative press.
For those that wish to choose another place, check out Capilano RV under the Lions Gate bridge, closer to the usual tourist spots and I hear not bad at all
Btw that railroad line is definitively THE main line (1 of 2) out of Vancouver. I can't imagine it being very quiet there. Although the other park is near the 2nd of the 2 railway lines so you're not much better off I suppose

I was about to say the same thing...
We do NOT have to darken their doors or services just because we are parked next to them. To suggest otherwise is just rediculous...
for kicks I just phone the City of Burnaby (I live in the City so I thought I'd go to the source). NO vehicle over 8000# may park on any City Street for more than 2 hours from 1AM to 4 or 5AM (forgot which). That means the OP was illegally parked. Having said that, the Caribou Park was just being mean and petty IMHO. Living by the letter of the law yes, but geeze.

So...when people park the RV in a shopping center parking lot and maybe make a bite to eat before shopping? Just asking the question.
