In my weekly post to the Official Blog of the Open Road I ask readers to share information with us about casino promotions, free gas, free RV Park stays, etc.
Click This Link to read my post in the blog. I started this thread as a place for discussion of the topic.

The last casino I was tempted to visit had a concert by my favorite country star. That's about all that would tempt me. I would have gone, but alas, since it was a holiday weekend, no campsites were to be found, and couldn't convince DH that boondocking was a good idea!

We evacuated our home in Fallbrook, CA last Oct. and went to the Pechanga Casino in Temecula, CA. They were very nice and comped us two days stay. Earlier this year I stopped to fill the rig with diesel and found their price was $0.25 higher than the other local stations. I topped up anyway and chalked it up to a pay back.

Can't remember when the last time was that we paid for a campsite in Tunica. Get offers for free sites every month.

rwmmdj that's a good point. Casinos heavily market performers to get you in the door. They may not make a profit on the show itself, but they hope the attendees will buy meals and drinks, maybe a room, and of course they hope you'll gamble.
I don't know if I've seen an increase in free offers of this kind or not. For us, I think it's about level.
One note, a casino stage is a great place to see your favorite performer "up close". Some venues only seat 300, so there are no bad seats compared to a concert where you're in the 2nd deck of a football stadium. We've seen some major acts that were selling out stadiums a couple of years ago and are now playing to cozy little groups of a few hundred fans.

We belong to several Casinos, but have not received any offers so far. But it brings up a good point that I will inquire to see what we can get.

We use certain casinos when we travel it beats dry camping at a Walmart or rest stops, we try to find full hookups and check out the area if there are things to see or do. Last year we stayed in Albuquerque for the balloon festival, and Santa Fe for the old town tour. Cost a lot less than the other campgrounds in the area.I think the casino was called Hollywood $10:00 per night with security and full hookups can't beat that.
