Wow, fourfuz! You obviously don't work for the Tourist Center. LOL (Roving packs of wild pitbulls???)
For those considering visiting the city, Tom Sawyer and the place in Southaven are nicely kept and both are close to downtown and Beale. Graceland area is also not far from Beale/Downtown, but have never stayed in that RV park so can't comment on it. As said before by above posters, downtown area is fine. Parking garages/lots are all patrolled. Just use common sense as you would in any large city. Beale is a tourist area; just as 2nd/Broad is in Nashville, LaClede's Landing in St. Louis, etc. etc.

Tom Sawyer was great. we will definetly stay there again next time we pass thru. setting on the benchs watching the river is very impressive.
