The last time they had a month with no dust was mid February to mid March 1981. Had rain during this period & more than a little mud.

Their season is Sept 15-April 15. thats for the 180.00. Not everyday is dusty, or to say the wind blowing the dust. This past winter we had 3 times of rain, some heavy. We left our awning down all winter, securly staked to the ground. Didn't have a problem, but then we are also in a park of about 500 other rv's. Its always warmer by about 5 degrees in Yuma. In the evening you will need a fleece type jacket. I'm sure more folks will answer you about Q as we get closer towards fall. The BLM does have a website and they tell all about the visitor areas in Q.Do a search, the site eludes me for the moment, just got up and on my first cup of coffee..Dona

Attended the RV show for the week it was on at the end of January, definitely worth the trip over from Phoenix. Hope to make it again this year. The weather for that week was very nice, rained a bit at night and was cool a couple of days. Never noticed any dust or wind. It is a desert remember!
The BLM area off of the Bouse Road was not at all crowded. Some awesome sunsets, and a hike up to Palm Canyon was a great day out.
What with all there is to see and do at the flea market, RV show, mineral show and some excursions to Yuma, the river, and surrounding desert, we need more than a week this year.

Thanks for the reply to the Quartzite area.... sounds like I will try it out this January and Feb. I might split my time between an RV park and the desert....dip my toe in gently...hehehe. The idea that it has to be done sounds a bit like Sturgis S.D. for the bike rally..... we have been there 3 times and we stay less and less.

Please don't compare Quartsite, AZ. to Sturgis, SD. leather, lace, chrome, and tattoo show. I don't remember if Quartsite even has a town ordinance sign, but the first thing on the Sturgis sign says "No Nudity". I wonder why?

Isn't there a naked book store guy in Q ?

The bookstore owner rides his bicycle all over town without any clothes. We were just there on June 21st and it was 117 degrees. If he was out that day he was TOAST, LOL.

the bookstore owner does at least wear a g-string(i guess thats what we shall call it.) On chilly mornings, you will see him in a straw hat and red fleece(short)jacket..I was told he does wear clothes to the town meetings..its worth the stop at his bookstore, next to Sweet Darlene's restaurant. He'll be glad to have his photo taken with you..Dona

ps-no sign in Q about No Nudity! If you go, make sure you have fish and chips at the Grubstake on Hwy 95 just north of town..Sure is good..not fancy, as nothing is fancy in Q. Jeans are the norm.
