We are in Riverside RV Park near the entrance to the Denali Nat'l Park entrance & will be at the Tek Campsite Monday thru Weds.
We heard great things on RV.Net about this site, but it is a mess. On a positive note, the setting is great. We have a site on the Nenana River, but with only 20 amp. svc. which we knew we had to live with... no problem. However, the showers of the 1 or 2 out of 6 that work are disgusting. The bathroom had a plugged toilet. We've had 3 power outages in 3 days, the generator failed. The water supply has heavy iron content, so if you add chlorine to your wash it will leave spots. The laundry has 3 out-of-service signs on various units. The advertised TV service has bad reception. It's a tired RV site.
Other then that. we had a great stay for 38 bucks a day!Nice Scenery!

We were there about a week or so ago for three days and paid $40 for 30 amps, no scenic view, bad water, no showers and no TV. We filled jugs of water from the park for drinking water and waited until we were in Denali to take showers at Riley Creek. In addition to that our "neighbors" who shared the outdoor space took it all with their picnic table and outdoor dog pen. We were glad to get into the peace and quiet of the park for three days. We have run out of campgrounds just outside of Denali to stay in.

You guys have obviously never been to the Bahamas. We go to the Abacos pretty often to fish, and having no electricity or water is a twice or thrice daily affair. And down there, the Bahamians really don't care, and the rooms are a couple of hundred bucks a day. But at least the beer is cold!

The difference with this campground and your Bahamas is that this campground advetized that they have showers, TV, clean bathrooms, etc. If I know that I am going into that situation I am prepared, its the surprises that I don't like.

By far the nicest campgrounds in Alaska are the Federal, State and local campgrounds. No they for the most part don't have electric, Wifi, cable TV, sewer at the site but they have unbelievable views, large picnic tables and fireplaces.

And yes the Abacos have some marinas that offer far more than the RV parks in Alaska(headed for Treasure tomorrow). Its what you make of what you are doing!

We like it all-headed back to Alaska next year!

We were there over the 4th of July and while some of what you say is true retired frog, you must have caught them on a bad streak. Yes some of their facilities were down, but we had no power outages. It is a tired park, but the alternative is much worse (Rainbow Village RV Park). And as for TV and Internet, unless you have a satellite dish you won't get either (and even with a dish it's iffy)
On the plus side, it is close to the Park and the lack of communication lends itself to peace and quiet - which is why we go there!
Denali Riverside could definitely use some TLC and some work, but it's not the worst place you'll come across up here to be sure!

I am in Canada and don't have my logs but there is a Passport America park about 3 miles north of Denali that has good power, clean bathrooms , and wider sites. We enjoyed our stay there a few years ago, sorry can't remember the name. CORRECTION, not PPA ,it is Denali Motel and RV Park.

We stayed there for three days a couple of weeks ago...exactly the same story. The good things of this park is that it is close to Denali and if you have a pull-up facing the river...a fantastic view. But with the advertisements of wifi, tv, and ect....and then you get nothing....well, that just really sucks.

After a couple of problems with the park generator, I un-plugged and fired up my own. My neighbor on one side did the same thing. We complained to the owner (via the Russian kids at the office) and he did finally come out and try to fire up the older (but larger) diesel generator. However, after a few minutes of running, it overheated and died. I don't know if they ever got it running or not.

The tv advertised is weird. Supposenly, you have to raise your air antenna, and select "CABLE" and not "TVANT" in your rig to receive their signal....huh??? Never did get that to work. WIFI was completely non-existent! Didn't even look in the laundry or restrooms (we have both item in the mh), so can't comment on either of those.

However, if a park advertises certain features, it should by all means have them in good operating conditions. While this is not the worse park we have stayed in on this trip, it certainly is second. If it wasn't for the view....it would definitely be #1 on my******list.

We looked at Rainbow, and while it didn't have the view, it was right in town and I bet all their advertised features were in working conditions. Ugly place tho.

We are now in Stoney Creek (Seward) and what a beautiful setting this is. Great little park and everything works as advertised!

See ya

Just wanted to add my 2 cents about this park...yes, it had HORRIBLE electric. The monitor in my motor home showed frequency of 53-(normal is 60mhz). my inverter would not run properly, microwave clock kept losing time, dvd wouldn't work. still not sure if we have damaged the motors in any other appliances or not.
we stayed 3 days and had to run generator. why pay for full h/u and then need to use your own diesel generator?
called owner (after nice russian clerks in office said they couldn't help me). he gave us a $15 credit for the 3 nights.
glad this thread got started so others won't be mislead by false and incorrect advertising.
