Another congrats added to the mix! I can "hear" the excitement in your post and still feel the same way everytime we head out.
My favorite moment on our first trip was having to get up and use the bathroom in the rain in the middle of the night! A few barefooted footsteps...I was positively giddy. :-)

12 day trip with no hookups huh..Well, you might consider the following:

12 days with the small tanks this unit has will pose some real challenges. You will want to bring something to transport fresh water in to refill the FW tank. You will also probably want a "blue tote" to empty the holding tanks as they will fill up fairly quickly.

Electricity is another challenge. What is the battery setup? Dual 12V? The standard equipment battery package is marginal at best so a pair of 6V golf cart batteries is the most bang for the buck as an upgrade. You will need some way to recharge them during your stay.. A small Inverter Generator like a Honda EU2000I is best, quietest and most fuel efficient, but not the least expensive (even at $860 from Wise) It will run the microwave and perhaps even the A/C if nothing else is running. For just battery charging the Honda or Yamaha 1000 inverter models do a great job and are less expensive.(but they will not run the Microwave or the A/C) They are lightweight and reliable. If having the Air conditioning running often is important to you, I would go for a Yamaha 2400I as it is the smallest, lightest and best unit that will run a 13.5 A/C reliably.

Since the stove, furnace, Water heater and Fridge will run on LP they should not pose much problems, but still need some 12V to work (at least the Furnace and fridge do, the water heater might if it is dsi) and the furnace is a battery hog.

Oh yes, there are many here that reccommend the Champion (Chinese) generator as it is cheap to buy. The importer has a good reputation. They are not very fuel efficient and are noisy (like a lawnmower), as well as having to run at a high speed all the time, due to their non-inverter design. They do not put out the clean voltage of an inverter type either.

Congrats on the new HTT. DW and I bought a 2007 Jayco 23b last November and have loved it after 7 years in a PUP. We have done a few mods to ours, all minor if you have questions feel free to ask.
Happy Camping

Congratulations! I know you are excited.

I bought a Jayco 23B June 28, but am unable to bring it home yet. I am dying to have it in my driveway.

Thanks all for your well wishes and advice! Very helpful. DH came home with the camper last night and I am THRILLED!!! As I am starting to pack, I cannot believe how much storage there is. Unreal!! I love this camper already.

We will take the advice about tanks to refill the FW and empty full tanks. I know there is a dumping station there for the bathroom and pump wells for fresh water.

We have been doing this trip for 5 years (with 7 other families). It's the highlight of our summer! I know we won't use the heater as it has been HOT here and will remain that way. No AC either. Too much of a energy buster and with the pop out beds and breeze off the lake (and shady sites) I am sure we'll be fine. (Always slept great in the PUP). We use lights minimally as well for this trip....just as needed in the evening.

Also, my DH came home with a small (gently used) generator, so I am hoping that will take care of the battery issue. No idea what model
We will be up there with some veteran large camper owners, so we won't be alone on this. (Thank goodness). Although none have a hybrid. I am guessing we will have a bunch of envious folks on our hands

Yay! Congratulations! You and your DH sound just like us,lol! We tent camped all the time, but hated sleeping out on the ground, and hiking to port-a potties in the middle of the night, lol! On a whim, we went to LOOK at a pop up trailer, but the dealer showed us a hybrid and we were SOLD,lol! You will have so much fun!!!
