I was kind of hoping that once you finished your burgers someone may have time to make a suggestion.. , I sent a couple of PM's but have received little response...thanks

This thread was about luncheons and planned get togethers. When you ask a question about something else in the middle of an on-going thread, you run the risk that your question may well be overlooked. It's hard when we are thinking "food" to change and talk about hot tubs.
There is another thread going about activities, so you might check there. Most of the parks have beautiful pools and hot tubs. Check it out: Things to do in the RGV.
We have lots of fun in the valley and never want for things to do, whether planned get togethers or impromptus. I think on the other thread Shirley gave a good description of things available.
I'm sure no one meant to ignore your question. I didn't. . . I just was on a roll with those burgers. . .
Cheers!
Dale

If you want a ton of activities, go to Encore Sunshine, just north of Harlingen on 77. More happening than anywhere else in the eastern end of the valley., Music, dances, jams, happy hours, fish fries, and anything you can think of. Not, not a paid add, I've just visited, and compared most of the eastern RGV parks, and they don't seem to me to be in a league with Sunshine as far as amenities are concerned. Just MHO

OK.. thanks for the tips.........I took the thread title to mean...ask Questions and just joined in...I have been to most of the good eating places that are mentionned, I learned about the all you can eat seafood place in SPI but cant recall the hotel name now........the Sunshine park is a sister park to Fun N Sun and I know one of the managers there personally..we may end up there, their prices are within our budget for 5 months...The new section is a little close to the highway and a good distance from the main activities...I asked the question to try and narrow down the big list to a much shorter list, trying to please the DW in the pool area.. The PM was informative and I did check it out...it is a little too pricey... thanks for the help...

This is our first topic on the forum. We would like to know if there is a resort that participates in working for free lodging from Jan thru April. We are interested in southern Texas. Thank you. Phil and Teresa
