Garmin Nuvi 5000 for truckers and RV'ers - gives routes based upon weight limits and low clearances. Should get mine in two days just in time for my trip. Costco for $499.

Don't get too excited.. Garmin truck routes is NOT what you think it is.. Here is someone who thought same and Garmins response..

"Bus routes typically steer drivers away from roads or turns where larger vehicles are not allowed, but don't take specific bridge heights into account, said Garmin spokesman Ted Gartner."

Oops

Thanks for the heads up. I'll wait to see how good it is.

Could you give an example of one of those restrictions that we have here in California that no one else has, as I live here and have traveled out of state and have no idea of what you are talking about.

This is off Topic but:

The biggest difference in CA for is restricted roads for fixed frame Rigs over 40 feet long (Motorhomes & Buses mainly). The DMV publishes a map of allowed roads for these vehicles.

Also, a non commercial class B license is required for CA residents who drive a MH over 40' long.

Law enforcement is lax.

For instance, the common routes to the Outdoor Resorts locations in Indio, CA are illegal for these rigs per an adamant CHPs officer there. Lots of 40+ footers use those routes every day in season.
