I have edited posts in this thread and deleted a few as well for language!!!

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR OBSCENE LANGAUGE IN ANY POST HERE ON RV.NET AND IT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM!!!

If I see so much as one more word in this thread the entire thread will be deleted - period!!!

And just so we're all on the same page - - abbreviations and clever attempts to hide the full word will be treated as obscenity and deleted!!! Continued use of obscene language will result in your being banned from the forums!!!

Enough said - FIRST AND LAST WARNING FOR EVERYONE!!!

thanks mod.
This kind of posts , "just saw" or "it must'a been", are alway amusing/argumentative/ as no weights were given at all. What was the mini van GAWRs/tire caps/registered GVWR ? Was the mini van one of the older very short wheelbase or the newer long wheelbase units ? What was the trailers GVW and hitch weight ? What was the trailers actual weight and length. What weights were actually surpassed ?
I have no idea what the bigger mini vans tow caps are but I see many on the road pulling TTs/cargo and even utility/lawn mower trailers/large I/O boats/etc. But without knowing any actual weights/actual lengths I wouldn't guess if they were over or under any legal weights.

After reading a post regarding towing a TT with a 1/2 ton truck I thought I'd share this. While recently down in the Keys camping a Camper pulled into the park. A 27 foot TT which was being towed by a mini van. I was shocked that somebody would even attempt this..what made matters even crazier was that when the vehicle stopped four very, very large adults exited the mini van...The other kicker was that they drove all the way from Ohio. How the heck did they make it....wonder if they made it home.

We have been towing for a bout 8-10 years and I have never seen anything quite this bad.

That reminds me of a story I read as a kid about 11 or so in one of my Mom's old trailer magazines. The story was about a guy who towed a 30 foot trailer cross country using a Volkswagon Beetle. I don't recall what sort of hitch that he used or problems he may have encountered along the way etc. but somehow he actually did it!!

Holy Cow ! I read this post last night and there was some argumentative comments made regarding the topic but I didnt read any obscenities. I would hope that the moderators would allow the exchange of thoughts and idea's even if topics become a little heated at times. Are we not a free society? While I would never condone using profanity outright... if somebody is going to write "BS" instead of writing out the words is that a violation? I would hope not. Discretion Please !

The first line of LAdams post explains it. He had already cleaned it up and that is why it no longer contains any abreviations for profanity. I read the original post and agree that it needed to be cleaned up for this forum. Thanks LAdams.

I had a '92 Plymouth Voyager. I hated it while my DW loved it. We never did tow with it. I replaced the transmission 3 times in the 77K miles that we owned the "Miserable Minivan" (dealer twice, me once). Maybe the towers mentioned in the OP are just going from tranny shop to tranny shop on their journey. As I remember my Voyager, it was towed for a lot of the miles on it due to the crummy Mopar transmissions and other quality issues. I'd hate to think of the repair bills when one is abused like stated.

We all agree to the TOS when we sign up, we agree not to use foul language. I read the offending posts before they were cleaned up as well and though they needed some modding.

I would like to publicly THANK LA for his restraint in not deleting this thread and instead going to all of the work of cleaning it up. You do a great job!

Obviously without using the exact quotes..Can you explain what offended you. I read the post yesterday and found no cursing or obscene language per say. My point was that at times threads seem to be altered or removed because some forum members have strong disagreements.I personally do not think disagreements are cause for being censored.

Just my opinion..Have a good day
