I love moose encounters. Had two good ones myself. Both in Alaska in the early 60's. First was on a hunting trip, we had settled in the woods for the night and had a small fire going on the only clear ground around. We also were sitting around telling lies when a large moose (they are always large when you are sitting on the ground) came through our camp at a fast trot, when right through the fire and kept on going. The second encounter was when I was driving in the middle of the night headed back to the lower 48. It was November and I was in a 1961 VW Beetle. Outside temperature around 50 degrees below zero. A moose came out of the woods running away from me down the road. Hit it in the back two legs and had moose bottom covering the windshield. When we finally slid to a stop, backwards into the snow bank, the moose kicked his way off the VW breaking the windshield and one headlight. After we got the VW unstuck we went to the next lodge on the highway and reported the moose with the two broken legs. The owner traded us a tank of gas for the info and he said he would go get it for the meat. I do not care for a repeat ever.

Alright you guys, easy the no Pics thing. When you have a large animal such as a bull Moose come through your camp, you are spending more time trying to not poop your pants then worry about taking pics. LOL

That's why we have our "MooseCam" always at the ready when in moose country.

You guys are toooooof unny You are right, tho...one of the clients did have a camera...in his lap But, as I stated, we were all too stunned, trying not to move and be quiet...to take pics until after he was at the tent. Then he tried to get some....don't know if they came out as it was getting toward dusk.

Mike and I did talk about the situation last night. He decided to get that bull and have me ride him thru camp . We would hank a sign saying..."Hi, I'm Bullwinkle" around his antlers. Then we decided we would get a black horse, instead and put fake antlers on him and I would ride thru camp

The moose was back last night, or maybe a bear...judging from the noise it made. I yelled at it but was not about to exit my tent No damage, but it makes for great tales, for sure

I have tonite off, then back on Thursday...wonder what will happen next?

You know between the crocks, snakes and now the mooses (wonder if that is correct), me thinks mother nature is out to get you.
