I just installed my new Carefree awning after the awning that came with my Jayco Baja 10y was destroyed by wind. The Carefree awning is very easy to set-up by one person, and the install is straight forward, but you do need to drill into the side of the camper to install the foot supports. The advantage of this awning is you don't have to attach anything to the ground with stakes. Although I have not yet tested it in windy conditions, it seems sturdy and well designed, and it was reasonably priced (I paid about $270 plus shipping.

I personally believe the bag awning is a major pain. Not difficult, not time consuming, but still a pain. It's much like putting up a tent. Poles, cords and stakes. Just a few. Colorado Carefree should alleviat this, but fleetwood does not recommend the side attachments, so not sure how much better it would be.
I didn't fully realize this until I camped with my father. He's got a class A custom coach. Pulled up, plugged it in and pressed 2 buttons. #1 - automatically leveled everything. #2 - auto extended awning. He was done.....

I don't have cords on my bag awning. I only have poles, and they are all attached. There are only two stakes to use in metal loops on the leg poles if I chose to use it carport style and the weather warrants it, or I can use it patio style and attach the ends of the legs to brackets on the camper.

Ahhhh......the Carefree Super Sport awning. Oh, how the in-laws wish they were able to get one now.

I have the Colorado Carefree...pretty reasonable to set up.. I use rope ratchets (www.roperatchet.com ...got them at Home Depot) as tension back to the trailer frame to stabilize in the wind on the supports . Works nicely.

Trimline bag awnings can be set up the same way as the carefree (in fact most newer bag awnings can be; i.e. Shademaker). It comes with a set of brackets to attach to the side of the camper for using it patio style, but it can be used carport style too.

We use our factory bag awning every night we camp. It is easy to put up and we've never had any issues with the wind (we do stake it down pretty good)
I think having the attached awning is one of my favorite things about having the popup camper vs a tent. I especially enjoy sitting under the awning during a light rain.
