There have been mentions of working in Branson, but I need more information. We want to spend 3 to 6 months there seeing the shows and sights. Where is the best place to work? When is the best time to work there? How do you get a job there? Where do you stay? Please be specific with as much information as you can give. We have looked at all the web sites and still have questions.

You could search this Forum for `Branson' then the results for `work' or `workamping' and see what comes up.

Branson opens to the public about mid April, I believe and closes down by mid-December. Sorry I can't help any more than that, tho.
See ya' down the road!

We worked in Branson from Mar-Aug 2006, and are back now doing this summer at the same place. We love it. Workampers get into most of the shows free or at a deep discount. Some restaurants will give discounts as well.
Most of the RV parks use workampers. We researched several of them then sent emails to the ones most suitable to us and got a job very easily.
If you need additional info, let me know specifics and will help you as much as possible. Branson is a great place to work and play and they are very appreciative of temporary workers.

We are presently workcamping at the City of Branson Lakeside RV Park.
We are here from May till Nov.
There are 10 total workcamper couples here and all of us enjoy each other and the job.
The managers really like workcampers and have potlucks for us a regular intervals.
We also get to see the majority of shows for free or near free.
This is the primary reason we came all the way from Seattle to work here.
Check them out, managers great, shows great.
They want you here for minimum of 3 months or longer.
You can mention my name.

We are currently in Branson at the Branson Shennigans RV Park. We have been here since mid-April. We love it here and when this gig is up, we are going down the road so to speak to work at Treasure Lake RV Resort...membership park that also is open to RPI and C2C. We are happy here but we want to stay around until November so I can get my Christmas show fix for the upcoming season! My son is graduating from SIU at Edwardsville, IL on Dec 20, so we will do some relative visiting prior to that and then it's back to Weslaco TX for the winter. We have seen many shows...none were bad, all good. We have also done the Dixie Stampede and The Branson Bell dinner cruise. All we had to do was pay for the cost of the dinner plus a tip. Most venues offer free or minimal fees to see the show. There are still a ton of shows we haven't seen. Many seniors work the show as ticket sellers, concessions and ushers. I cannot tell you if they are workampers or not. There are lots of campgrounds around here and most utilize workampers (I only know one that does not). DH also worked at Silver Dollar City. But, as a ride attendent, he was expected to climb up on the rides and do inspections. I know he is a super klutz and would be the first employee fatality at Celebration City (an amusement park affiliated with Silver Dollar city)so I made him quit when I learned this!!!
There are also tons of resturants that hire seasonal employees and manyh appear to be seniors also. Lots of jobs here, not only workamping. One suggestion...go to MO License bureau and get a non-driving MO ID. Most shows now require one to get into the shows...you will be then considered a "local". Maybe if you work the KOA you can get in with just your shirt, but all of us workamping here had to get one.
Hiring varies...some are 3 month commitments for workampers, some longer. I know of two places desperate for workcampers. As noted in a prev message season runs from about April thru Dec 15. Many campgrounds are open year around.
hope this helps..

Where do you find out about the jobs available in Branson? We are thinking about next summer but don't know for sure where to start looking. How far in advance do you book your jobs? Thanks for the info already given and TIA for any more you might have. Sharon

We found our hosting job on Workamper.com. Many here found positions just calling the various parks...most if not all are online. Google campgrounds + Branso, MO and they will all come up. Or try the Branson Chamber of Commerce site.
