New M&M commercial. Not a joke it's been on the TV for a day or so.

Opens up where the two of them look like they are in the North pole freezing to death, the big one saying that he thinks he's dieing.

Then clerk opens door to a freezer in a store, and rolls his eyes and motions for them to get out of the cooler.

The M&M's get up and as they are walking out of the cooler the big one looks down and says 'oh my what happened to my M' (which is smaller than normal) the other M&M turns to him and says.....shrinkage, it happens!!!!

This is a kids commercial?

That's the clip that came to mind immediately when I saw the M&M commercial!

I guess what this proves is that we adults must buy more M&M's than kids do. I.E. pretty good demographic advertising marketing on their part.

Thought we were the only ones that noticed. Inappropriate.

I just knew someone someday would make a connection and then make a big deal out of it.
Who cares?

I care -

I think it is inappropriate - but it is certainly not the only inappropriate one out there.....

It's just a tv commercial. It matters not.
Besides, this is nothing in comparison to the murder, mayhem, assaults, some mild nudity, sexual innuendos and profane language on almost all of the popular programs that are being shown on tv these days. And yes, believe it or not, kids watch those shows.
However I thought it was funny.

Well, I don't feel that this is necessarily a bad commercial for kids.

We, as older adults (older than about 8) Get the joke.. Kids won't. At least not till they already know about that stuff... Thus it is not offensive to kids.

So when watching this ad.. Step one: REMOVE MIND FROM GUTTER.

Step 2: Think like a kid and say "What are they talking about"

And if a child near you mentions that you cite the physics books how most materials "Shrink" as they get colder. You have given an accurate answer, and have not.. Given away the joke.

That is the perfect logical answer. I like it. Like you said unless the kid is already aware of the joke, most of them will not make a connection.
