Could be going to Martin, TN for a couple of days for Cal Ripkin 12U world series. Anyone know of a campground in the area. I have searched and can't find anything but Reelfoot SP. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about the campground in Reelfoot (details) but there is a KOA (looks nice - haven't stayed there) in Paris Landing near the Tennessee river. Probably about the same distance from Martin. I live in Dresden which is eight miles from Martin. There isn't a lot of choices in this area. Just a thought - the University of Tennessee at Martin has some hookups adjacent to the football stadium and near the McWherter Center on campus in Martin. UTM is a big horse college with a very good college rodeo team. Rvs are there during horse events at the McWherter center. I would contact the University and ask about the hookups available for 'non horse events'. Let me know how this goes and may be able to direct you to the right person at UTM.

Navybanker..appreciate the info. We are going to Southeast Regional 12U Tournament in GA this next week and should know by the following week if the trip to Martin is a go. As soon as we we winI'll need someone at UTM to call. We'll following the grandkids anywhere!

Here is a person to try at UTM. Bud Grimes, 731.881.7516. If you have time, you should visit Land Between the Lakes which is nearby while you are in the area. Several camp grounds and things to do. I have seen motorhomes, fifth wheels, and of course horse trailers with living quarters parked at UTM. We drove by to see some time back and it seems they do have sites with electric but not sure if water and sewers are available.

Cal Ripkin World Series is scheduled for August 7-14 in Martin. These kids will be in "hog heaven" to get to go that far with this team(besides they get to miss the first week of school).

There is a place to park in Union City. It is not anything but that a place to park but they do have hook-ups I'm not sure if they have sewer or not. They use to sell some rv parts and unless they have closed it since I moved had less than a dozen spots. I'm not sure what the name of it is you can call Lawns & more (731) 884-0538 they are about 2 or 3 buildings from it,maybe they can help you find out who to call. It is on Reelfoot avenue HWY 51 There is also a trailer park that has a few sites that they let campers use Green Acres but it is a little rougher enviroment. I moved up there for a while with a job and stayed at Green Acres till I found a house had no problem at all while I stayed there. Hope this helps. Reelfoot is nice if you decide on it but is about 25 miles from Union City. Hope this helps Mike
