I know that the ads on the forum pages change, but too funny....as I was reading this, the ad was for a place called 1st Chain Supply.... Guess maybe your neighbors needed to get a chain from them!

Lucky, lucky, lucky.
It was great to read that everything ended up fine! Lucky for you and your pup that there were no injuries! (or worse!) Lucky for the pitts owners that they did not end up with jail an/or dead dogs!
I have seen the results of a pit bull attack. Not good. Several co-workers ahve been chased by pitts, and one dog was killed. Unfortuately, pitts have a bad rap and if a person is being chased, they could reasonably believe that they were in immeadiate threat of death or serious bodily injury. Especially if the chain broke! Thus they could defend themselves appropriately.
If I was in the same situation as you, I can honestly say I don't think it would have turned out the same. Again, it's great (and scary) to hear it all turned out good!

I'm so glad you and Pebbles are fine. I would have been doing the same thing you did.
Our neighbors own a huge male pit. The first time I ever saw him was at my back door. He had been left outside just before the 4th of july a few years back and made a beeline over the fence just looking for a place to get in. He scared the daylights out of me when he came running in my house, back door was open. I had know idea who he was , where he came from or if he was going to eat me or one of my dogs.
I heard someone outside yelling Tubby! Found out it was the neighbor and it was her dog.
He is the biggest, sweetest, most loveable baby you ever met, and is my Dolly's boyfriend (they are both fixed), but he sure scared the bejeebers out of me.
Guess maybe your neighbors needed to get a chain from them!
