We made reservations in January for next week. I have read lots of positive reviews about Rafter J Bar. I asked for full hook ups with 50a. They said on the phone they give you your spot upon check in. I guess I wanted to find out if some areas where better than others ? And why.
Thanks, we are really excited about this trip. Look forward to your responses

We stayed in the island area which was really nice, big spots. Farther from the pool but we liked the privacy.

They really do have something for everyone...
we stayed in Lower Ranch - it has decent sized sites, 50A, trees and a hill to the back of the site, wide open mowed lawn in front with a view of the pool, office and the camping area closest to the office.

Island is popular, Ranch is behind Lower Ranch and is wooded (lots of trees to negotiate) - both are quite a ways from the pool/office.

Just depends on what you like... enjoy!!

We stayed in the island area. After staying there I would take a spot just about anywhere in the park, It is truely a very nice campground. Have a great vacation.

Again, there really is a mulitude of different kinds of sites. I wish we could've stayed on "the island", but were very happy with our site in Upper Ranch. We had loads of room privacy, and trees! We'll stay at Upper Ranch (or Lower) next time as well.
There really is something for everyone.

Just got back from there. When I made my reservation, I told them the size of the trailer wanted and preferred shade. They reserved a specific site for me because when we got there a day early and someone was in it, we had to stay in another site until the campers vacated our site the following day. Possibly they aren't suppose to reserve a specific site, but I think if you know which one you want and it is available they will accommodate you.

We stayed at the Lower Ranch section last year and loved it. Its an easy walk across the meadow to the tent for pancakes in the morning. We can't wait to return.

Procrastinate now . . . don't wait.
