Drive up to Columbus IN and take the architectural tour. Not sure how much the town has recovered from their recent flood, though. We'll be there in about 3 weeks. Or drive over to Nashville IN and just wander. Neat town.

Madison has many nice little shops to walk around in on their "Main" street downtown near the river. There is a nice golf course just on the west side of town. You can also drive up river about 30 minutes to Belterra Casino, they also have a great golf course.

Once we get there we are wanting to stay put in the Madison area. It will take us 2 1/2 hrs to get there and with driving a Suburban and gas prices, well, you get the picture! We don't want to spend all our money in the gas tank! Thanks!
Anyone else???

Check out Madison Vineyards--there are others in town but we like Madison the best--their physical location is away from town (maybe a couple miles) but they have some neat events such as dinners on the patio--music--etc
Madison is a very pretty small town--Clifty Falls is beautiful.
Go to Madison's webpage for events and tours--they do have a tour that goes around the town by one of those little open air trains--they also seem to have events pretty often.

There are some historical homes you can tour in Madison, and you will probably want to visit the various waterfalls in the park.
We've stayed at Clifty Falls a few times and its a very nice park.

The river front is nice. Depending on your life style it's a nice place for a walk. The park is nice but getting to some of the falls requires some work, OK a lot of work. Going down is easy getting back up is an other story. I watched kids look tired coming up and adults who are probably still there.

Before you go, rent the movie "Madison" it tells the story of the regatta races held there. My cousin used to drive one of the hydroplanes and did much of the racing for the movie.
