Should I order the optional 15k ducted AC for a 32 5th wheel toy hauler with an open floor plan, no garage. Will a 3000 watt gen power the 15k? Will it cost a lot more to replace if it goes bad?

Thanks

3000 watt generator about 25 amps max avalable output. Don't plug in the coffee maker. (volts X amps + watts)(Watts \ volts= amps).
A/c costs, more a/c cost more but not alot more. it your choice.
good luck have fun.

Some recommend a second a/c in the master vs. a larger main unit. Just got our ist 5er and the previous owner said it would be a good idea. Can't speak from experience as we haven't used it yet but something to think about. The Raptor we bought is prewired for a second small unit in master.

I would go with the larger one.

I think the extra cooling of the larger unit would be a good investment...especially if you ever have to camp in a shadeless site in the Summer.

If it's going to be your only AC then go for the larger one. The smaller one will fall short on those 90 degree days. As Taronteaser mentioned. Those wonder bread boxes can get pretty hot. Bill

Although my Honda EU3000 powers my 15K, it wont power anything else. If the Water heater or fridge is on electric, the gen will not start the AC. Hot days and elevation have an effect too. Not even the elctric skillet can be used at same time.

If the 15K wasn't free I wouldda purchased another 13.5 as a replacement.

I din't knock over the gas station awning when I ruined the AC only the AC got ruined, lol.

I say if all you have is a 3000w genset, get the 13.5 otherwise you will get tired of turning everything off in order to get Ac to start.

With a 32ft. fw you need the bigger a/c if you ever come to Texas.
