A long time ago I actually saw photos of a Mercedes class A. I think it was from the late 70s or early 80s. So at one point, they did make a full size class A, but I can't tell you anything about it.

Mercedes-Benz is a brand owned by Daimler AG, which builds Mercedes-Benz cars, trucks and buses. Other Daimler brands include: Maybach, Smart, Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star, Mercedes-AMG, Thomas, Fuso, Orion, Setra, and Detroit Diesel.
A number of companies, around the world, build RVs on chassis made by, and inside of trucks manufactured by Daimler AG.
The Daimler model most used for RV manufacture here is the Sprinter van, which is sold as Freightliner and Dodge here (until recently, Daimler owned Chrysler), and as a Mercedes-Benz in some other countries. These are type B (van conversion) and type C (house built on cab-chassis).
Several companies in Europe build type B motorhomes on the Sprinter van and the smaller front-drive Viano (e.g. Westfalia Marco Polo). European RV manufacturers use the cab-chassis of the Sprinter to build their largest type C. Daimler builds a number of larger panel vans (like the Vario) and cab-chassis up to class 8, but I've not seen motorhomes build on these. European C's are also built on VW, Fiat, Renault, Ford, Citroen-Peugeot, and Iveco cab-chassis, using both front wheel drive and slightly larger rear drive van models.
A smaller number of RV manufacturers in Germany, France, and Italy (Hymer is only one) build type A motorhomes in the 24' to 30' range on a bare Daimler truck chassis. They also build on Ford.
This is from UK, Spanish and Italian motorhome buyers guides. I had no opportunity to pick up guides from France and Germany.
The closest thing I've seen to a Mercedes RV here in the US is a heavy truck conversion using a Mercedes engine in a Volvo heavy truck (class 8 as in semi tractor). I think there are also some truck conversions using the smaller class 5 trucks with Mercedes engines. I think thats what they call Super C.
I've seen the big trucks (class 8) at RV shows but never on the road and I've never seen a used one listed for sale. That implies there are not many around.

There are a several lines of Super C's (Dynamax Corp's DynaSport and DyanQuest, among others) built on Freightliner class 5 through class 8 chassis. Does that count? Daimler AG sells Freightliner, Sterling and Dodge brand trucks in the U.S, reserves the Mercedes-Benz brand for luxury cars.
Is a Winnebago or Fleetwood diesel pusher on a Freightliner chassis a Mercedes motorhome?
This past weekend while traveling on I-75 south of Lexington, KY I was passed by a class A motorhome and the only noticable label was a Mercedes emblem on the rear. The driver and co-pilot were in front of the front tires and at eye level to a passenger car. An odd site for a class A.
