Hi Daveinet, I think they mean polyurethane paint. I've never seen anything that large molded of polyurethane. The weight would be ungodley.
I also wanted to point out that you guys are nitpicking the aerodynamics, but I didn't see anywhere that it was their goal to get astounding mileage.
From what I can see, they use the Isuzu chassis from their cab-forward style box trucks. Those are great chassis and engines. They perform great as delivery trucks, so I have no reason to doubt the claims of those people selling theirs. Many of these came with GM or chrysler automatic transmissions. The turbo 400 and 727 I believe.
Now that I think about it, that Isuzu chassis predates the sprinter by a decade and everyone is goo-goo-gaa-gaa over the sprinter, but never heard much about this Isuzu chassis for RV use. That chassis was also available with 4 and 6 cylinder engines probably depending on GVW.
I don't know if I would like the attention that rig would draw. It's bad enough in my Georgie Boy Cruisemaster with the slant/pointed nose!
I don’t know if it was the designers true intension to design an aerodynamic rig. I just though the heading was appropriate with a question mark…you would think the designer had to have wind resistance in mind though.
He was probably trying to enter the RV market on a shoe string type budget. No big R&D department nor a wind tunnel to test his theories out, probably just shooting from the hip.
Trek was designed with a similar front end design, just not as aggressive and they did use an aluminum skin.

My 21 ft Vixen was in fact designed in a wind tunnel. It had a larger radius on the corners and a raised roof with a roof AC added. I had the gas version with the Buick V-6 and transaxel in the rear and it got 19-21 mpg. The diesels with the turbo BMW and Renault stick transaxle got 27-29. I sold it as it was just a little too small for us. I wish I had the mileage back!

Heck, it is 18 years old. I am sure one would get a lot of attention with this one. Said in ad, it is 1 of 15, production was ceased due to poor health of builder. I suspect it was so close to taking over the RV world that the other RV companies put something in the guys food. Kind of like the guy that invented the carb that would yield 100 mpg, he got sick and died, victim of big oil. and GM and Ford. Yup, poor guy was about to have us all driving these units.
