It seems with every single ST being made overseas these days, not one single brand is quality and reliable! I recently spent DAYS researching everything currently on the market and your head hurts after reading these forums, reviews on tire dealer sites, eopinions, BBB complaints, and on and on... It's basically trying to pick what's the lesser of the evils, like our politicians , and leaves you with a bad feeling in your stomach...
Travel trailers are expensive. We haul them for fun with our families. So why to we have to settle for tires that are OK based on statistics? That's actually how it shakes out for Carlisles and Marathons - they will tell you statistically they are good tires? What? Because you corner the market with tires coming out of primarily 3 plants overseas (different brands molded side-by-side with the same compounds and belting materials), have them put on every trailer possible, it's statistically OK for them to blow out at speed causing thousands in damage if not worse? I, for one, would like to know how many blowouts are NOT reported.
In trying to find replacements for my Carlisle junk that cracked all over on a less than 1 year-old camper (tire DOT code puts them just over 1 year), I actually find big tire dealers are no longer even selling trailer tires because of the constant problems with them! Good grief! I ultimately had the choice of getting another set of Carlisles from Carlisle, could only find Carlisle, Marathon, and TowMaster locally, or have something shipped to me and put on. I decided to give Maxxis a try, but they too have negative comments...
Seems if someone would make a quality ST tire, they'd have a market for them! It's hard to believe with the popularity of travel trailers the big names stop making STs themselves and have instead put their name in imported junk. Sorry for the rant, but it's frustrating!

welcome to the forum. As you see by a few replies ST tires are very problematic especially in 225/75-15 D load range. Their usually on heavier trailers and especially using them on the interstate as they carry a very low speed rating (65 mph). The higher speed rated tires cope better with heat internally. Do a search will show many problems in this particular size tire and heavy trailers. Some folks claim a particular ST brand is better but looking in on all the trailering forums show a different story. Many folks switch to a 16" LT E rated tires/wheels if there is room enough. If not a suspension/frame mod is another alternative to use the better 16" LT tires. It costs more going that way but will iliminate ST related tire problems.

We also have had two Ultra CRT tires blow - our size is 205/75R15. Luckily due to our trailer suspension design we have had no damage. But we are looking to replace with Denman Express ST Radials - they actually have our size in a Load rating of "D" and I have actually seen positive reviews.
i was on my way to the ms gulf coast last week blew out the first ultra crt about an hour and half into the trip, blew out the second one about an hour later and found the third one of them bad when we were changing the blowout. when we got there i decided to put four new ones on because i was afraid of the fourth one.
