I was told that I could add a receiver in RV by buying a separate dish for RV. I was told that the charge would be like adding a room at home if I signed that I would be using it in my RV. Now I am being told that it will be a separate account. Any experience with this?
Thanks

Taking it from your home is no big deal and the only cost is the extra receiver. Some take their one primary receiver from the house when they go in the RV. IF YOU want DNS ( distant network service ) they will want to set you up a seperate account. DNS is the networks from either the West coast and/or East coast feeds. Most places you will be able to pick up the networks locally with your bat wing antenna.

You do not need a separate account in order to have an additional receiver in your RV. You will have to pay the $5.00 a month for the separate receiver however.
Here is a link to a previous discussion in regards to this subject.

Hope this info helps.

I have a receiver in the RV and it's $5.00 per month it is on my main account as another receiver. the only inconvience I have is that when it has been unpluged for a long period of time I usually call Dish Net up to reprogram it and that takes only a couple of min's.

Who is telling you it will be a seperate account? Surely not DishNetwork?

I have Direct TV and it is just an additional receiver charge of 4.99 per month, as I already had Driect TV at home.

A separate account?? I think NOT!

The problem is... IF you are very far from home you may loose network television (NBC, CBS Fox and so on) in the RV, These are spot beamed (Think of a spot light shining on an area that includes your house.. Same thing exactly a spot light is a spot beam)

To get network back you have to 1: Pay more and 2: pay it to another company and 3: Tell THE OTHER COMPANY you are using the receiver in an RV.

They are NOT supposed to activate you for a home account (unless the home is outside the network service area) however... Well.. you know the difference between what is done and what is supposed to be done.

So how well/if this will work.. Is kind of up to the clerk who processes the request.

NOTE: IF all else fails.. Cancel the home account and put multiple receivers in the RV.. Cost the same.. Activate distant network for just one receiver.

That being the ONE receiver that is actually IN the RV (You don't actually move anything, Just change the class on the account)

After 250 miles you loose all your regular local broadcast, our FCC made the satellite providers do this, another stupid idea from our law makers and officials.
