Got a couple of screens ripped from the screen frame at the bottom in my RT. Want an unobtrusive fix. Any ideas?

I've seen people use clear tape but that's only a temporary fix and not meant for long term.

I had one that was loose too. I removed the screen and found it was cut too small to actually fit into the groove at the bottom of the screen. I used rubber cement and glued it all around the bottom. So far it's working just fine.

I would replace the screen - either myself or at a window repair store.

I'd thought of running a bead of something like rubber cement around it, but before doing anything and possibly creating a bigger problem, I wanted to run it by ya'll.
Thanks for the ideas! Anyone else try something different? What would you NOT do?

If it's black, why not a bead of black rtv?

A picture would be useful. The screen part of most window screens is replaceable. Quite a straight forward process. Requires a small double ended roller, the replacement screen, hot water and a very sharp knife.

I think yours is a Chevy RT? Which windows? I think the back side windows are in removable frames that you could take to a screen shop. The other windows probably have Bug Barrier brand screens, which have the screens screwed to the vans sheet matal or plastic window trim. I _think_ the screen is put into the frame with spline, but I'm not sure. But I'd advise taking it to a shop if you're unsure what to do.

Repaired one on my 2007 RT 210P already on the side entry door.....mine had screen popped out of spline groove.....unscrew the aluminum frame from the door moulding. Reseat screening tight putting spline back in groove with screen underneath. Rescrew frame back into moulding.
I will probably have to take screen sample to Home Depot or Lowes and get some more as screen was cut too small at the corner where I reseated it. Hardest part of job was gettign frame rescrewed in-getting those screws at just the right angle to go back in their original holes at the door moulding. Not an exceedingly difficult job- Home depot folks can explain rescreening process. Good Luck.

My rear screens are held in my an "o" ring king of thing. Went to the hardwear store for new screen material. Cut it to fit and tapped the o ring back in and done!
