My Yamaha 2400 ran once for about 30 minutes in a moderately light rain without incident. I don't think I would want to do it often! My generator rarely leaves the covered truck bed, but I have on occasion used a small & cheap pup tent I set up behind the TT and stick the generator in there is it looks like rain.

Keep it covered. You never know what that water is going to get into. Generators are too big of an expence to play around with. Get a small inexpensive tent if you have to.

a few years ago I found and bought a small tent for my gen. I tried a search on the web and couldn't find it any more. I guess any 2 man tent would make a great shelter for a gen.

I run my Kipor in the rain without worry. I do keep it out of standing water.

to tell the truth, before I got the little tent, I used to leave mine out in the rain and snow during elk season and to this day it still runs

Hi all, I also have the Yamaha 2400, and it does rail in oregon, I keep mine covered when possible when not using it. However when using it I dont worry about the weather, I run mine often in the rain and has never missed a beat, while running there is enough engine heat to keep any water at bay and it is closed in by the sound-proofing. Thats my $.02 worth
