I am not getting air to come through the ducts of my rig. When the unit is on, the air flow is only coming from the bottom of the ac unit. Does anyone know what may be wrong> I sure don't want to take it to the dealership.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Close the vent on the bottom of the unit. It slides closed.

the only thing at the bottom of the unit is that actual filters that slide in. There is not vent to slide. Do you have this same unit?

Im not sure what type of heating and cooling system you have, but on some the ACs cool air only comes from the bottom of the roof mounted AC unit. And only heat comes from the ducts when you have the heat on.
Is this the type of system you have? And have you ever felt cool air come from the ducts? Also how long have you had this RV?

I have a Carrier Air-V ducted unit. Like you say, there is no where for the air to exit the unit at the unit, just the ceiling ducts...there are only slide-in filters on the unit. So where is your a/c coming from? If it's coming from the filters there is something wrong up there. Take the filter housing off after removing the filters, 4 screws in the perimeter plastic and investigate. Let us know what you find.

that is what is happening. The air is coming directly through the filters.I did take it off, all I see is the circuit box with all the electrical and I can see the wheel spinning.

I think you're missing a baffle up there. I can't see the blower on mine. And the filters are supposed to have air go up only, not both directions. It may be dealer time.

The difference between ducted and unducted for that particular Carrier model is baffling that blocks the cool air from coming straight down through "out" side of the grill so that it must go out the sides of the plenum where the RV manufacturer installed ducts (half of the plenum is warm air intake, half cold air outlet).

How it could have fed the ductwork before, and not now, is something of a mystery, because someone would have had to remove at least a half dozen sheet metal screws to get the baffle out of there.
