Anyone here use those quick connect fittings on your drinking water hose?
If you do...plastic kind?...brass kind?
Do they leak?
Do you use them on both ends? (At the faucet and at the MH, or regulator on the way to the MH)

We use the metal kind and only on the MH, not the faucet. We love it, without it it was a pain to hook up with out a drip. Very quick hook up!

I agree with JOMO, use a brass set at the MH end only, it has virtually eliminated any leaking, it is much easier to make tight connections each time you hookup.

My "quick connect" just screws onto the hose connection. Takes about 5 seconds to connect. If it was any quicker I'd have to find something else to occupy my time better

I use them everplace at Home on all of the exterior hose bibs, Hose reels, Spray nozzles. Plus Use them on my RV hose and pressure regulator. Just makes life so much easier.
Mine are all brass with stainless steel locking balls. You can purchase from any industrial hose shop. They are made / distributed by mfg. such as Dixon / perfecting and Parker

I use brass quick connectors anywhere I have a hose connections. I think they are great until the washer wears out. I have not found good replacement washers without paying a premium price. Fortunately the washers usually last for years.
I use a brass Y at the faucet with two Q-Cs attached, one for the water supply and one for an extra hose to rinse fishing rods, dog, etc. I think I have only left one set-up behind on breaking camp, education is expensive.
I tried plastic but found they don't last, brass seems much better. Leaks are not a problem as long as all is tight.
The issue of the diameter of the valve on the brass Y has been mentioned, it does reduce water volume somewhat but that is not a bad thing in an RV.

Where do you get the brass connectors? When I got mine, they only had plastic, but brass seems like a better idea.

We use the plastic ones from Camping World. They're on all hoses, filters, motorhome connections. To connect to campground fauset I screw on the snap-on first, much easier than man-handleing the whole hose, filters and pressure regulator. We have short, medium and long connection hoses all equipped with snap-ons, using whatever is appropiate for a given situation. Jordan
