anybody got or use the peticure that they advertise on T.V.? or do you just use a dermal tool, or still use a cutter? Wondering how the peticure really works don't know whether to trust the add hype on tv.

Thanks for posting this. I'd like to know too. DH mentioned this to me the other day as I was cutting the dog's nails. I always cut longer rather than shorter for fear of cutting the quick - two of my three have black nails. I hope someone has one of these, I'd like to see the answer.

just as a matter of info, I looked on the web site and they have the heads for sale for people who already have the dremel tool. it is $20 and you still have a four to six week wait. the tool they have are two of them are cordless, a 3V and a 9 or 6 V and the pro model is corded. they sell the sanding disks also for $14 per pack but I think you can buy the same thing at Ace cheaper.

I have ground my dogs' nails for years. I have used a Dremel MiniMite (available for $25-30) and now use the Dremel MultiPro (readily available for about $40, at Target or Amazon or various others) for years. I have no experience with the Peticure. With the Dremel, I like how with I can avoid quicking a nail and can bevel the edges so the trimmed nail is not so sharp. The dogs do well but do benefit from a good introduction. There is a very nice nice "how to dremel dog nails" with good explanations and pictures at http://homepages.udayton.edu/~merensjp/doberdawn/index.html

Got one...Love it. I believe the current wait to get one is about 12 weeks, per someone else at the dog park who ordered it a while back after trying mine.
You can do a LOT more than you'd ever dare with nail cutters. Its really a great tool.

I use a Dremel. The rechargeable version you can pick up at WalMart for less than $20. And sometimes clippers, too.

Personally from what I've seen of the two, my husband has a Dremel and Susan brought her Peticure along recently. I think the Peticure might do better than the more open Dremel with our dogs, since they have hairy feet. Susan tried to demonstrate it on our Pistol Pete (he would likely do better if I was the one operating it) when she visited earlier this year and it looked pretty good. I would be afraid of getting hair caught up in a Dremel, the Peticure has a plastic guard over the cutting tool/sanding discs. I think I will feel safer using the Peticure, after some practice of course, if the darn thing ever gets here.

Hey Cat, once you get yours, can you post again about it? I usually don't cut my dogs nails often. We live in the country and they typically wear them down in summer. But I hate cutting them in the winter. I have never thought of using a dremel tool. It would be nicer.....

Mine in on the way, just ordered it last week. Looking forward to trying it. The one with the guard vs a regular dremel would be safer cause of the guard, cant get their fur caught in it. Curious how the girls are going to react to it.
