We had to make the heartbreaking decision to have Mitzi put to sleep this past Saturday.
As some of you may remember, Mitzi had diabete's, Cushing's, was blind and had a cancerous tumor removed last November. In April her appetite began to diminish and lately, every time she ate, she seemed to be in severe pain a couple of hours later. DH & I believe the cancer may have spread to her stomach.
As many of you know, this is so very painful. We remember the good times, of course, but just miss her so very much. Sometimes I hold her leash and just inhale the scent of her - and soon that scent will also be gone.
I know she is in a better place, but I will always feel her place should be with me.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I know the feeling well. Just remember you gave all the love you had and when the time came you did the right thing by not letting Mitzi suffer.

(((((((( Linda & Fred ))))))))))) sending gentle cyber hugs your way. I am so sorry to hear about Mitzi. It is so hard to make that final decision.... I know you did everything possible for her everyday of her life. She knows that, too.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
With Sympathy
They will not go quietly,
the pets who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.
Old habits still can make us
think we hear them at the door
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And,sometimes,coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them...
and always will.
