Hi - Anyone know of a place to spend the night in Cleveland, OH? Will be passing through, taking in an Indian's game, and leaving early the next morning. Hook-ups not required.

I was a police officer in Cleveland for 28 years and there is NO location in the city where I would close my eyes for more than a few minutes.
Neither Cleveland nor the near suburbs in Cuyahoga County have an rv campground I am aware of. I would suggest a Walmart in the outer suburbs depending on the direction you're traveling. You may have to drive 30 or 40 minutes to find one but it's time well spent.

Thanks - your reply is extremely helpful. I lived in Bay Village for a few years in the 90s but at that time RV's and camping were not on my radar screen! Do you think the Walmart in North Olmstead is accomadating to RVs? I also saw a campground in North Ridgeville called Crystal Springs - do you know anything about it?

I never been to Crystal Springs but someone once posted that is not that good. I would suggest a little west of there in Amherst called Swift Hollow. A friend told me they like it there and I see American Wilderness in Grafton has good reviews. Both will be about 45 minutes to an hour from the statium. I know Walmart Elyria has had campers parking there overnight also.

I'd ask first...N. Olmsted WallyWorld: 440-979-9234.
North east New Hampshire mountains are some of the most beautiful places I've vacationed in.

There are some rest stops on the Ohio turnpike that have electric hookups and a dump station. Cost was $15 last year. It`s a option if you can`t find some where else and will keep you on the route without side-tracking onto another road.

Crystal Springs is a dump.
If you are looking to stay downtown I would check into the large muni lots (Burke, the stadium, etc) as I seem to recall looking up some info for the Rock Hall for someone and they had RV parking.
There is a new Wally World at Steelyard Commons, which is 10 minutes from downtown. There is a 24 hour IHop down there, too.
A lot of the hotels downtown also allow for bus/truck parking so I am sure they would allow RV parking Hotels.
Have you called Progressive Field to see if they have any suggestions? I am sure that you are not the first to ask this. I just never have looked into this since I am only 15 minutes out of downtown.

Depending on which direction you're headed after the game, there's turnpike rest areas with elec and dump at milepost 139.5 westbound and 197 eastbound.
keep you on turnpike, clean, safe, close to food and facilities. Use them every time we cross thru OH.
