WE HAVE A 98 PACE ARROW. WHEN YOU PUSH THE LEVER WATER WILL RUN IN, BUT FLOWS OUT WITHIN ABOUT FIVE SECONDS. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Possibly the valve needs to be replaced.

Probably the rubber seal is not providing a waterproof contact with the ball-shaped valve at the base of the bowl. Try cleaning with Lime Out or similar first to remove deposits. The ball must be perfectly smooth, and the rubber edge of the seal free of waste build-up. This problem is common. Most of the time you don't have to replace anything, just remove deposits, but there comes a day when you have to field strip the contraption and rebuild it.

the gasket is leaking? that's my guess from your description. There is toilet seal lubricant and conditioner (mine is from tetford). I did not think much of the idea to start with ...but it brought a seal back to life for me . and i used a FRACTION of what the directions told me.(SEVERAL times) mine was doing the same thing, (i think) flush...water that normally stayed on top of the valve seal slowly dripped through. And come to think of it not all that slow. I checked ( with a straighted wire with a hook, for debris in the seal lip, it didn't fix it . so put the lub/ conditioner to it ...

Clean first, dry out as much as you can, then pour a little tranni fluid in there. Watch it closely and keep refilling it as it leaks away. The seal will absorb the oil, expand, and solve the problem.

At least that's what I did and it seemed to work. Leaks a little after periods of non use but then seals itself.

$72 and about an hour of your labor will get you a new valve ball and seal kit.

Also try PAM which is temporary.

Also let the valve "snap" or slam shut. Which is what we do on a 1 year old Dometic/ sea land china toilet

Before doing anything drastic, clean the blade and groove with an old toothbrush and scratchy sponge then spray with silicone. We've found that does the job. Probably just a bit of toilet paper or something interfering with the seal.

My kids had not been using enough water when using the restroom and had some debris that had gottem stuck between the ball and the seal. So I used the high pressure of my garden hose to clean the area. I just held the ball in the open position and applied the stream of high pressure water all around the seal. I know that camping world sells a tool that will clean the seal of debris, and you can make one your self out of a coat hanger
