We just got back from a 4 day stay at a COE campground, there was 2 families camped across from us with teenagers, both families were cutting thru our site instead of going around it to get to the lake, DW said something to one of them about it, that's when bicycles, chairs and the satilite dish started to "accidently" fall over. when i caught one of them kicking the dog ,i told the park rangers, he told them to leave as he has had complaints about the families in the past. what would you have done?

Kicking the dog is inexcusable, I would have done the same thing.

After asking them to not do it, the second time they cut through, I would have placed something across the space so it couldn't be walked in. And absolutely you did right about reporting them for kicking your dog. I hope the dog wasn't injured. Inexcusable behavior!!

Did you report it to the park ranger before or after you filed a police report to cruelty to animals and had them locked up. In GA, Cruelty to Animal can be considered a felony.

I would have done the same thing as you....I hope...If it was a child or teen that kicked our dog ( 7lb. Shih Tsu) I would have told the Parents of the idiot and The Rangers. If it was an adult who kicked our dog..I probably would have done something that I would eventually regreat...I have a long fuse but once it get lit..Im not very nice.

Obviously THEY were rude and caused others to complain against them. Does the COE keep records of such people and not allow them to camp at any of their parks again?

Sorry to hear about that experience. We always tell our 7 and 10 year old not to cut through other peoples camp. Also we recently stayed at a camp for 3 nights when I notice a kid with a sling shot shooting at everything. I yelled over at him and he stopped for a while. When I noticed he started again I reported him to the park manager put an end to it.

I you did right, you might have complained when items were being knocked over. Kicking the dog is breaker. You should have taken the dog to the vets for a full exam and sent them the bill. JM2Cents Bill

It's against the law in all the states I know of, cruelty to animals that is.

First time I would have done as you. Pleas mind my space. Kicking my dog would have gotten a very quick response form me. If it was an adult I would have kicked the manure out of them. If a child he would have been restrained and a call would have been placed to his parents; If they did instantly discipline the child the police and park ranger would be called. My belief is that a major contributing factor to the down fall of our society is reliance on the government. We should not rely on the government and people shouldn't feel the safety of most people wanting the government to handle their problems.
