O.K. I know recently that there has been some discussion in a recent thread about electric awnings.
We recently returned from a weeks trip and one day we had nasty thunderstorms with real hard downpours. This was actually the first time we were able to try out the awning without retracting it. We did however retract it slightly, just to tighten it up and it worked great! No pooling of water. No need for the automatic dump feature.
Just thought you'd like to know.

Thanks,
Mike

Good to know! It doesn't surprise me that retracting a bit to tighten it up might work - just have to keep on top of it, I guess!

We also have an electric awning on our new KZ Spree. It does have the gas struts so it will dump rainwater. I am 100% satisfied with it and would get it again!

We love ours on our Jayco. Ours is the one with the slope not the straight out design some have. Never has pooled water. We like the convenience of the power awning, easy in or out.

I am getting a new awning in a few days that will have the struts to dump the rainwater. Have no idea how it works. Like your signature. _______

WE ahve the electric awning also. few weeks ago while on vacation we had rain almost every other night. One night it poured. I opened the door and all I could see was the awning bowed down about 3 feet. I could not get out the door. I could see my awning support fram on one side was ok, and I thought the other side was history....well as the rain let up and the awning was draining it moved right back up to where it was suppose to be. No damage at all.
