Has anyone had a new air vent installed in the bedroom where there was none before.

There are times I would like to run the vents instead of the AC .. presently there are two air vents .. front room and bath. We would have the bedroom one installed by an RV shop as I don't want DH up on the roof. (Western RV closed their doors)

We like a cool bedroom and since we are heading south, thought this was something to seriously think about doing. But wanted to see what you all had done or not done.

if your unit is framed for one, go for it. otherwise i would be carefull about who you have do it. the opening needs to be re-enforced.

I added one. It was easy. If you're paying for it, it shouldn't be too expensive. I was able to cut a square between the roof joists, secure the new vent in place with the supplied screws, power the shurflo fan from a nearby light fixture, and properly weatherproof the whole thing in one leasurely afternoon.

It's a great addition. Adds light in addition to ventilation.

Installation notes: The joists were just the right distance apart already. I did add 2x2s on the two unsupported sides, primarily as backing to screw into. I don't think it needs any more support than that.

If you are going go to the trouble and expense, do it right. Get one of these...We have one and it really helps cool the BR + it is very quiet.
