I just read this on our local TV station website...how scary. I hope this isn't one of our members, and mostly that she will be okay.

That wasn't at the campground. There is a condo in Destin called Topsail and that is were it happened. We just got back from there today.

Awful news. I can see how it happens though. Years ago, I was standing at an sightseeing overlook over a river gorge in Maryland. As I started to walk to my car in a paved parking lot, a huge deer - bigger and taller than me -- came running full speed from the bushes. I was so stunned I could not scream, jump or otherwise do anything. He came to a sudden halt and then reversed course.

He was as surprised as I was -- there were no other humans around, so I caught him off guard. If he had body slammed me, it would have been broken bones.

WOW, I cannot imagine. I have hit one in my truck and it was bad enough but to be hit by one while walking, gee. Must have knocked her down pretty hard and hit her head on pavement as well as stepping on her. Praying she recovers with no permanent injuries.

I remember about 10 years ago, a deer ran into a school bus at a local stop. The deer kicked the living krap out of the driver to get out of the bus. He lived.

I didn't realize there was a condo with the same name. Still, seems weird that deer were in the bushes of a condo. A crazy occurance wherever it happened.

It's actually called Tops'l. The Destin newspaper had reported on it. The condo has woods behind/beside, etc. When I first read it in the paper over there, I was freaking out. I asked the ranger and they said NO, it wasn't here. Whew.....I really hope that women is OK.

Don't know how big the deer are down there, but around here a 150 lb doe and larger bucks are common. Just imagine standing there and having someone toss that much weight at you. If you get hit in the head or a vital organ, it's going to do some damage.

Life is too short to spend it all in one place!
