After much consideration and a lot of shopping, we just downsized from our class A to a new Jayco Jay Flight G2 23B. Since the Quad cab Hemi was already in the driveway it seemed to make sense to use it to pull a TT. Anyway, we're excited about the new rig and anxious to get out on the road. One question: will a Yamaha 2400 generator start and run a 13.5 Coleman Mach AC? I'd go ahead and buy the 3000 if I could figure out an easy way to get it in and out of the back of the truck. Any ideas?

The 2400 won't run it on high, probably be ok on low. Most people use 2 Honda 2000's and use the parallel kit to tie them together. I have been wanting one myself. Just haven't invested yet. The 2400 comes out at about 20 amps but is probably not rated at that continuous load. Really hard to say if you don't take a amprobe and put on it to see what it actually pulls when the compressor kicks on the a/c. With the 2 Honda's it would be ok whatever you wanted to do. Anyhow welcome to the Travel trailer way of life Camping is camping regardless. Have fun Mike
Might want to look on your a/c and see what the amp rating is for it. Will give you a ideal what full load amps is for it.

The 2400 most likely will run it. See posts by 2manytoys. It runs mine on my Jayco 31bhds 2007, mach 3, no ps, just the regular one. Of course I did have to order the hard start kit from my local dealer for $50. Before that it would only start it if it had been running a while off of shore power. I love my 2400.

We had a long discussion about generator loading and unloading up on the 5th wheels forum last week. I think the topic was called 'loading a generator' or something like that.
I posted pics of the ramps I made to load/unload my generator with. That was on my other screen name- SoCalDesertRider (I had to make a new screen name to enter the forums through Woodall's cause RV.net forums quit working). Anyways, check for that discussion up on 5th Wheels and you will get a few different ideas on the topic.

The Yamaha EF2400 will run a 13.5k AC unit all day long. I do it in 100degree Texas heat. And yes, I run that sucker on HIGH! Only caveat, when I run the microwave, I click the AC off.

I run a 13.5k with my Honda 2000 and it works well, but only with it running and nothing else. However it did give me problems once at about 6000' elevation.

Thanks so much for all of your insights, after looking at the "generator loading" discussion, I ordered the Yamaha 3000 from Wise sales. I'm going with the ramp idea and found a good way to set it up inexpensively... http://www.mainstsupply.com/product.cfm/8/56/30139
Thanks SoCalDesertRiders for your good ideas and pictures.
