I have read much on the GM OEM hitch problems, and am thinking a new hitch would really help my Equalizer hitch shift more weight forward onto the TV. I have a 1/2 truck rated for 7,400 lbs and probably will be staying under 6,000 lbs on the TT. What is a good brand to get? I see alot of talk on the Putnam XDR, but I really don't need a class 5 hitch. I was thinking more towards the Putnam 25215 (class 3). Thoughts?

I am unclear on why you think a new hitch will help you shift more weight forward/ I personally like Reese/Drawtite products. I installed a Reese class V on my F150 and it was pretty simple opertation. Just be sure to torgue down all bolts/nuts. I went with Class V because it was only a few dollars more than Class III so why not spend a few more bucks and be on much better ground.

I purchased mine here..

Question - why did you post this three times?

I don't know how it got posted 3 times. I have read that the GM hitch flexes too much, not allowing the Equailizer to do it's job. With a stiffer hitch that is built a little better, the weight is supposed to shift forward more.

I think the forums are having problems again and that caused your triple post. I deleted the one with no replies. I will close this one with a link to your other post that will remain running. Sorry about that! It was probably not your fault.
Any further replies should be made here.
