I'm retiring soon and my plan is to spend the winter months in Arizona this year, somewhere in the greater Phoenix area. Not having done a trip more than 6 weeks before, I never had to worry about electrical costs, but I see long term stays get put on a meter. How much is a typical monthly electric bill?
I've signed up with Starchoice to get my tv. Never had a dish before. Do any RV parks not allow you to set up a dish on a tripod?

I have never seen an RV Park that would not allow you to set out your dish.
BTW many RV parks have cable TV included in the price.
Have fun.

I do believe there is a federal law which prevents parks and landlords from denying permission to put out a dish.
APS charges $0.08 per KWH plus delivery, meter reading etc. Some parks act as the utility an impose a surcharge on top of the utility rate. We heat a 36 foot 5er for about $120.00 a month. However a lot of folks turn the heat off at night and use an electric blanket... wear sweaters in the morning etc. They get by much cheaper.

Pleasant Harbor RV Resort on Lake Pleasant in north-west Phoenix area has an all inclusive rate shedule that includes electric, phone cable and wifi. Rates vary by lot size but their "regular" 35'X75' lot goes for $560. Located about 10 minutes west of I17 on SR74,(Carefree Hwy.).
It is a very nice place to stay.

we are pover in Brenda at a park, elec is 16 cents kwh. Our bill is usually 65-80.00 for our 38' fiver. We do not run the heat at night for sleeping. Alot of parks do have cable, you just won't get any CTV/Global(no Canadian news). No problems with a signal from Starchoice, they are pleasant to deal with. If you head farther west and south towards Yuma, it will be warmer.Have a fun time planning, its a great adventure, this is our 5th winter in Arizona, hands down it beats the snowbelt of Ontario..Dona

We found the electric in the Phoenix area was from 5.9-8.9 cents/KW actually alot cheaper than the Rio Grande Valley. Palm Springs was about .12/KW
