Hi there
We are hitting the road tonight for a 10 hour trip. We are planning on driving until tired and then pulling over and camping for the night.
I would rather not have to set the trailer up-would like to leave it hitched to the TV.
Is this reccomended? Are there any precautions I need to take in order to do this safely?
Any advice is appreciated!

You will be fine. I just put down my stab jacks to keep some of the movement down. Just don't forget to put them up before you go. I would also unplug the umbilical (but I don't know that this is necessary).

We do it all the time on our way to and from Florida in January and April. I usually put down the tongue jack to stabilize a bit but it is not necessary if you don't mind a little movement. Generally, unless we plan to stay in one spot for more than a night, we will stay hooked up until we arrive at our destination, no matter how many nights we are on the road. I usually only hook up the electric.

Sure, why not? We do it a lot. I don't unplug the umbilical and usually don't bother with the jacks. Makes for a quick and easy get-away in the morning.

We do that all the time. We do lower the tongue jack to take some load off the TV rear suspension. We also disconnect the cord between TV and TT, so we are sure not to discharge the TV battery. Some vehicles have an auto disconnect, but MANY do not. Ours doesn't auto disconnect.

I strongly recommend that you disconnect the power cord from the tow vehicle. I didn't one time and guess what. I needed a jump to get the truck to start. the TT drained the truck battery. sure made a believer out of me.

I unplug it and put it in an obvious location only to reming myself to put up the stabilizers.
