How is everyone doing when filling there gas tanks and they have a $75.00 limit? I tried swiping my card twice at a gas station recently and the pump rejected it. The attendant inside said they have protection for credit card theft and they stop the dollar amount at $75.00. At $3.75 or more a gallon I may need to swipe my card 3-4 times to fill the tank. What do you do, go inside and prepay?

You have touched on one of my pet peeves. $75 will only put 15 gallons of $5 diesel into my 100 gallon tank. Some of you have bigger tanks than that. Yes, you must take your card inside and pay there. Ridiculous, but that's the way it is.

When I had my gasser, I was able to swipe my card multiple times to fill up. BTW - it gets bad when I have to put $25 in my Gold Wing.

All the stations that I stopped at could override the $75 limit. They said to stop inside before starting to fill. They hold the CC until finished then run the card.

Same as above, have to go inside. I did find one gas chain (flying J), if you use the RV island they did not stop it @$75. I just took a trip two weeks ago from FL to OH and stopped at flying J's ind FL, GA, TN, and OH (all of they let me pump as much as I could on my CC at the RV island w/out having to go inside).

Some stations are not prepay so you can fill then go inside and pay. Some let you wipe again and others do not. It is not a big issue if you really need fuel.

I used to double or triple swipe my card, but now I just go in and pay, it seems to be easier. I don't have to monitor the pump. This let's me check oil, tires, wash windows or whatever else I need to do while the fuel is pumping.

Same problem, but it was too crowded inside store so I swiped my credit card 3 times to get 45 gal of diesel while in New York State. Exit 23 of I87 North, Citgo station/country store. No problem with using same card 3 times. Just inconvenient. at $4.99 they were 10 cents cheaper than everybody else in the area.

A few days ago, I decided to stop and just put in the minimum $75 so that I would not be empty at home. The pump kept going as I was washing the windshield and I had to stop it at $120+. Just a regular Stop & Rob, too. Stations must be upping their limits.
