We are planning a trip from FTW Tx. to Rapid City SD. Spending a week or so in SD. Then plan to travel from Rapid City up to Glacier Ntl Pk.
Where is the best RV campground on the western side, close to GNP? We need full hookup. 34ft fifth wheel, 3 slide/large bed, quad cab tow vehicle. We like to have our space. Don't know how long we will be there, until we get tired of looking around I guess. Travelling end of Aug/first Sep. Will then travel to Yellowstone for a couple of weeks.
Appreciate any help you can give me.

I always stay at the Apgar campground inside the park, but they have no hook ups. I have some friends that just love the KOA just a mile outside the West enterance, however I have never stayed there.

We just returned from a trip to Glacier, among other places. We travelled around the west side, but did not see any campgrounds that seemed especially attractive.

We stayed at Galcier Campground in East Glacier. Great place, and convenient to everything.

We stayed at Mountain Meadows RV park, just a few miles from the park gates. Beautiful campground, lots of woods and nice sites. It was our basecamp for Glacier, you will love it. Also stayed at the KOA down the road, typical squished in campground, but has a pool.

Is Apgar campground the one right on the lake? if so that is one nice campground with beautiful views!!!

When we were in Kalispell in 05 we stayed at my cousins in the foothills in the valley and drove to Glacier. I wish we would have stayed somewhere around Glacier because I could have spent alot more time there.

You will love Mountain Meadows, One of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed at, and the prices were reasonable, I think if you stay a week, you get the last night free. They have a website.

Even if you stay on the west side, don't miss out on Two Medicine and Many Glacier valleys, as well as Waterton Lakes NP in Alberta.
