The OEM sealant on the last few Jayco's we've had appeared to be silicone.

Our Bus uses silicone, but we have fiberglass under it. If you have a "rubber " roof, I'd use Dicor.

If you could find LED bulbs as direct replacements, you could use a good second generation silicone sealant and never have to worry about it again.
On things I dont plan on having to take apart again, I use 3-M Marine sealant. Its rated for below the water line, comes in bright white, it does take about 7 days to completely go off, but it wont leak, and it looks great. It should, at $22. a tube.

I replaced all the running lights and tail lights on my C with LED lights. I used clear silicone and works great, no leaks and and they sure do look good at night.

The biggest problem with silicon is that if you ever need to recaulk, nothing sticks to silicon, even silicon. In my experience silicon degrads and comes loose. In those areas where it does not come loose it is very difficult to remove, and if you can't get it all off, then nothing will stick to it.

I use ProFlex RV (www.campingworld.com).

Note that most clearance lights are made to leak--they have vents to allow the water to drain out. Unfortunately this also allows water to get in. I also seal all the holes in the inside of the face plate where the wires and fittings go through.
