There are several good CG's in the immediate area. Closest to Cooperstown, our preference is Belvedere Lake. Much closer to Saratoga is Deer Run. A very good CG with about equal distance between the two destinations would be Hide-a-way Campsites in Central Bridge. If I really wanted to see both locations, Hide-a-way would be my choice.

We have stayed a few times at Shadowbrook Campground. Just north of Glimmerglass. Nice family owned and fairly small. John & Laurie are the owner operators and they live on site so it is well taken care of. www.cooperstowncamping.com

Prepare to be bored. Looking at old jerseys gloves and bats is a real yawner. I like baseball too.

I would not suggest Jellystone Cooperstown. We were there for July 4th and I was not impressed!!

Cooperstown KOA worked for us.
Both retired. 1 year until son finishes college, then financial freedom! We lost Max, the Schnoodle after 16 wonderful years but now enjoy Nicklaus Von Schnoodle (Nicky), who is a full time job. Our new Allegro Bay 34 XB is wonderful.

We are currently at Ringwood Farms Campground....I would never stay there again. The bathrooms smell like mildew, the hot water smells like rotten eggs. Mostly permanent residences in the campground. They were suppose bo to be on the Camp Club USA....but on their door is a sign that they didn't sign up for it this year. We stayed as we had traveled 7 hours to get there and were tired, but wanted to warn others not to stay there. We did contact Camp Club USA so they can take their name off the internet site and WE LEARNED to now call ahead for every visit we make regardless whether the book says mandatory reservations so that can't happen to us again.
