I went over to CW to look at a few things I'm thinking of purchasing for my RV. The prices for "members" seem pretty good and I'm thinking that for what I want to buy, the discount more than makes up the "membership fee", though some of the other "benefits" don't seem to apply to me.
Anyone have any thoughts/experience? I've purchased things online from other vendors, but sometimes I prefer seeing exactly what I'm getting, even if I have to pay a little bit more. Their prices do seem competitive/reasonable, especially with that discount.

Buying the President's Club membership can easily save you the initial cost if you buy enough stuff within the membership year. A couple of years ago, we bought a membership for $19.95 and saved over $35.00 on a power converter.
The last two years we've been able to catch the $12.00 membership price which they offer. I believe they only offer that special about once a year on their website.

Thank you, Camper Ken. I just checked on their website and there's a $14 special. What I'm planning on buying today will allow me to recoup more than the membership fee.

If there are few other local RV supply stores, and you need a number of things, get the membership. You may do better with online RV supply places if you can avoid state sales tax and shipping and handling costs are reasonable

I have a few RV dealers here in town that I have asked for and received 10% discounts and no shipping charges. they want your business, and no shipping charges. keep your money at home, they are the people who sponsor your little league teams and other local charities. I bought a sewer solution once from a local, their every day price was cheaper then CW's sale price. and no shipping charges to boot.

I just purchased several items using my membership and saved enough to pay for the current renewal special offered at Camping World. The membership has more than paid off for me.

Camping World is in my neighborhood (next town over) so there's no avoiding the sales tax (if there's a store anywhere in NJ, the vendor is obligated to charge sales tax no matter where the item ships from) and I am supporting a local business. I checked prices on the 'net at a variety of websites and since this particular item was also on sale and there were no shipping charges it was considerably less than anywhere else. I found some other items there that were the same or less than online and, again, not having to pay shipping costs, I saved there, too. Total saved did cover the $14 dollar membership and then some.
Thanks. Right now I'm a "happy camper".
