I'm wondering if anyone else on this forum has had a problem with the door locks on their Chevy Duramax Diesels? We have a crew cab with the keyless entry and on a recent trip, the backdoors wouldn't lock when we push the button on our key fob, or the lock on the front doors wouldn't lock them either. They'll unlock, but not lock. We took it in to the dealer to have a fuel filter put on, and we asked him to look at them. He told us the actuators needed replacing, they cost $80/ea. plus $60/ea. to install. My husband said, "forget it."
My son doesn't think that is the problem, because he said if the actuators weren't working, the doors wouldn't unlock either. Anyone have an opinion on this or a cheap fix?

Maybe try some lube on the actuators?

I searched thru a GM truck wiring file I found and some models have separate relays for the rear door locks. They also have separate relays for locking and unlocking. Since both rear doors of yours failed, I would suspect the rear door lock relay. I could not determine where the relays are located.

I wanted to reply regarding our rear door locks. I called our dealer and told him what Jim said regarding the relays possibly being the problem. He had me bring the truck in, and sure enough, it was the relay and not the actuators! Because the technician had mis-diagnosed our problem, he fixed it at no charge! So kudos to Jim for finding this out and letting me know!!!!! This forum really does help people.
