Ask the dealer to show a you a documented copy of just one incident where a trailer traveling with the frig on caused a problem.

Yes some have burned due to a factory design problem, but there was a recall.

On before we leave (AC)...on when we drive (LP--I like frozen ice cream & cold beer)...and on when refueling.

Gas vapors are heavier than oxygen. There are reports of a few "accidental ignitions while refueling" where the hot catalytic converter or static electricity were the blame. Odd that there are zero reports where the fridge was the cause?

On electric when we're getting ready to leave, LP on the road. First time we did this it was by accident. So new we didn't know that if you didn't turn off your propane the fridge would switch automatically to it! When we got to campground and fridge was still cold we were happy campers. Now that's the only way to travel!

run with ours on. Depending on where the refrig is in relation to the gas pump, I will run in and shut the refrig off till gas is done being pumped - but we're so L-O-N-G (30' bunkhouse) that that the refrigerator is usually about 30' away from the nearest gas pump that I don't even do that. However, if the area is under the roof of the pumping area and/or near someone else pumping gas, I go in and turn off the refrigerator while we're pumping gas. No bid deal as by that time I usually want a cold soda or water and by the time I finish putzing around in the trailer (I've been known to be able to make 4 sandwiches, grab soda's and chips in the same amount of time it takes to pump a full tank of gas), we're ready to pull out anyway. I just turn it back on, lock the door, stow the steps and jump in the TV and we're off.

Since we store our TT away from home, we put the fridge on gas before we leave.

Not only do we travel with the fridge on, but lately we've been cooking in a crock pot plugged into an inverter while we drive

We always travel with the fridge on gas. As long as you make sure the system is working right, then you'll have no troubles.

I run mine on LP while in transit...and while refueling.
