I have a winnebago sightseer and I'm burning up. The lines running from the engine to the heater under the bed put off an awful lot of heat. Is there a cutoff valve or can I install one? How is it pumped?or does it just use the process of hot water rising?

Mine has a turn knob on the dash that shuts off the circulation to the rear. If not, a valve could easily... well sort of... be installed along the pipe line someplace. Look for the knob next to the rear fan knob, it should be there. Hope this helps.

Our Itasca Sunova (same as Sightseer) has a switch on the dash called coach heat. Switch it off, and no more heat! A wonderful device for winter travel.

My 94 Itasca is set up with a heat system under the bed. THere's a switch at the driver's instrument panel that lets me select rear heat high, low, or off. THe system uses the hot radiator coolant, and the switch activates a valve and fan control.

And you can always cut the hose and install a ball valve with hose barb ends as a backup that WILL shut off water flow.

I just checked my MotorAid system and I see no evidence of a valve. The dash switch activates the fan (High-Off-Low) but the water appears to circulate all the time.
It goes through the heat exchanger on the water heater and then through the rear heater core which is encased in a sheet metal housing.
The coolant is pumped by the engine water pump.
You might see if there is any way to insulate the lines carrying the coolant in the area of the bed.

Same here on our 35U suncruiser. There is a switch on your dash and I bet you it's on. It's called motoraid and it's great in the winter. In most winter driving you don't have to fire up the furnace while under way.
