Bumpy, here is the Askew Landing link on Mapquest

Askew Map

The campground is actually on the north side of the little pond visible in the map.

Here is the URL for the campground itself
Askew

Enjoy

A friends wife bought a GPS for her DH. She said it is useless because it has a womens voice on it and he won't listen to anything a women has to say. :-)

That woman's voice! Seems like every person I have met who uses a GPS has given the female voice in the GPS a name! Somehow mine got the name of Dora. Bet many of you gave yours a name, too!

You have to remember that you are usually smarter than the machine. And yet, they are so helpful on the average. I never travel without mine and it has always been helpful.

GPS vs laptop: I can put my Garmin in my pocket.

Looking for a friend's home in small town in OR.
Map had an insert for the town. Oops - only the central part
of the town - he's in the adjoining rural area "somewhere".

Punch in the address on the Garmin.

Garmin takes me there like I'm on rails - says I'm there!

Where??? There's nothing here!

I'm on a country road - NO houses in evidence.

Look at side of the road - there's 2 mailboxes and the mile-long
entry drive (into the trees) for his property.

NEVER would have found it without the Garmin.

2 Retired - Your hubby needs and deserves a GPS. Had you not agreed in an earlier post, I would have suggested that your sleak computer connected to a high speed internet connection be set aside for 28 days.

If I never see another paper map again it will be to soon. I'm all about the new GPS's. The NAV system that came with my new Ford is awesome. And we still use the Tom Tom in the other cars. For the long trips we use Google Earth to check out the route the GPS gives and if it looks wrong I detour and get back on track. Useing Google Earth and the GPS before a trip is flawless. We can do both on the road as long as I get a signal to our LapTop Aircard.
It's 2008 people.........throw away those paper maps
