We have to defrost our Dometic fridge about every 2-3 weeks. I do not think that is normal. I was checking the door gasket at the top of the door. with the freezer door open you can see that the one corner of the fridge door gasket does not seal. You can even see the inside light is still on. If I give it a little more of a push to close the door the seal is tighter and the light goes off.
Does everyone have to close the door and then give it a little push ?
Or is there a simple fix for this ?

We give ours a little extra push to make sure it is locked. In your case I would just replace the seal. I'm sure you can get one from Dometic.

I agree with Scarface, it kind of sounds like your gasket might be worn out. Dometic has a web site that's fairly easily to navigate. Good luck.

Yes, unlike the one in your house, this one has a real latch. The little click sound when you push it is a good thing. It lets you know it is really shut and will not fly open when you go around the first corner. Don't ask how I know

Fun is that stuff that happens in between mistakes.

The fridge is less than a year old so I don't think the seal is worn out, maybe a defective seal ?? It seals except right at the corner where it lacks about 1/8" of sealing unless I push on the door. I wish there was a adjustment on the plastic latch that holds the door shut.

Try a little film of patroleum jelly around the seal. Just apply with your finger, it worked on our fridge at home.

Could it be that she's getting back at you for leaving the seat up?

I have the same battle but with my kids.
